Day ANAKAO - TSIMANAMPETSOTSA - ITAMPOLO
After the breakfast, departure by car along the coast , very beautiful
beach with a fringe of grassy savanna. Visit cave of blind fish:
Typhleotris Madagascariensis. The lake shelters an important resident
population of birds: couas, pink flamingo, crested coot ...
Lunch.
Continuation
to ITAMPOLO through the tortoises track.
Superb lagoon.
Dinner and night at the hotel SUD SUD or similar.
2. Day ITAMPOLO - LAVANONO
Continuation by car until LAVANONO, small village of fishermen.
Lunch.
Dinner and night at the hotel GIGI HOTEL or similar.
3. Day LAVANONO - BERENTY
Rather bad road but very great tourist interests. After a luxuriant
vegetation and the discovery of carnivorous plants , drive through
thorny bush characteristic of the Malagasy south. Paradise of the
botanists because of an extraordinary variety of endemic Euphorbiums
plants . The landscape is punctuated by baobab trees, Antanosy funerary
art with stones raised in memory of the deceased .
Lunch.
Wide plantations of sisal. First incursion in forest.
Dinner and night at the LODGE OF BERENTY.
4. Day BERENTY – FORT
DAUPHIN
After the breakfast, new incursion into the reserve, formidable
pole
of interest for the ecotourists , 340 ha along the river of the
MANDRARE private reserve created in 1936 by a French family. Fauna
and flora of a forest gallery: lemurs, tortoises, chameleons and
endemic birds of a very varied species. A museum is integrated in
the reserve exposing aspects of the Antandroy everyday life , musical
instruments...
Lunch.
After the visit, continuation to Fort-Dauphin.
On the road, visits of sisal plantation processing .
Dinner and night at the hotel LE DAUPHIN or MIRAMAR.
